  8.     Several years ago we saw a game come out of Russia called Tetris.
  9.     The object was, and still is, to move falling blocks to form a line
  10.     and thus be removed from the board, while gaining points.  After
  11.     clearing a number of lines, you are raised to the next level.  You
  12.     continue in this vein, until you decide to quit, or the well fills
  13.     up and no more lines can be cleared.

  15.     Since that time this game has become a HUGE success.  You can find
  16.     it, or a variation of it on almost any BBS that has game doors.  It
  17.     has also spawned variations of itself, coming out with FACETRIS,
  18.     WELLTRIS, SUPER TETRIS, WORDTRIS, and now TETRIS CLASSIC.

  20.     The graphics in Tetris Classic, when using VGA with 256 colors, are
  21.     superb.  This version also supports 16-color EGA and Tandy 1000.
  22.     The package has both 5.25" and 3.5" high-density disks, and requires
  23.     about 1.3MB of hard disk space.  There is a mail in form for those
  24.     who only have low-density drives, to exchange the disks.  There is a
  25.     $9.95 charge for this exchange.

  27.     Classic supports the following sound cards: Internal speaker, AdLib,
  28.     Sound Blaster and SB Pro, Thunderboard, ProAudio Spectrum, MT-32,
  29.     MPU MIDI, Roland LAPC-1 and Tandy 3-voice internal sound.  It also
  30.     supports a keyboard, joystick or mouse.

  32.     You have the option of playing an unlimited or timed game.  The
  33.     timed game can go from 2-15 minutes.  There are also several
  34.     different game options, which are:

  36.     Single - One player playing solo.
  37.  
  38.     Cooperative - 2 players working in the same pit together.

  40.     Competitive - 2 players working the same pit, but against each
  41.     other.

  43.     Dual Pit - 2 players compete against each other, in two pits.

  45.     Head-to-Head - play via a modem.

  47.     Illustrations on the game screens, depict the story of Ruslan &
  48.     Ludmila from the epic poem by Aleksandr Pushkin.  The theme music is
  49.     from the opera overture, composed by Mikhail Glinka.  Each level
  50.     shows a different scene. These are truly awesome in VGA.

  52.     This game is very easy to play.  You just rotate and drop the
  53.     pieces. However, be WARNED, as this game can be very addictive.  I
  54.     have been a fan of Tetris since the first release, and have never
  55.     lost interest.  If anything, with both the enhancements and
  56.     variations, my interest level has been raised.
